Kordhell
👤 Kordhell — The Architect of Modern Drift Phonk
Kordhell is the phonk alias of British musician and producer Mick Kenney (born in Birmingham, UK). First known from extreme metal outfit Anaal Nathrakh, he pivoted to drift phonk in 2021 and quickly became one of the genre’s most visible figures, releasing through his imprint Black 17 Media and operating between the UK and California.
His global breakthrough came with “MURDER IN MY MIND” (Jan 2022), a viral single that entered multiple national charts and the U.S. Hot Dance/Electronic Songs ranking. The track’s signature blend—distorted 808s, razor-sharp cowbells, chopped vocals and a relentless, loop-friendly structure—has become a blueprint for modern phonk across car edits, shorts and club playlists.
Beyond that hit, Kordhell has built a consistent catalog that stretches from darker drift cuts to Brazilian-funk-influenced bangers, often releasing slowed and sped-up versions to serve creator culture. He also collaborates across scenes, from underground internet producers to high-profile vocalists.

Stylistically, expect crushed 808 basslines, cowbell-driven rhythms, and hypnotic vocal chops engineered for high impact on mobile and in clubs. Kordhell’s output bridges internet virality with meticulous production craft, helping define phonk’s modern sound and reach.
While he keeps a low personal profile, Kordhell remains a central force in the evolution of drift phonk—scaling from underground edits to mainstream charts without losing the genre’s raw, cinematic edge.
